President’s Message

On behalf of the Port Hope Fair I am so excited to welcome you all to the 188th fair.  We are especially lucky this year to be celebrating the 225th Wheat Harvest in Northumberland County.

It will be a celebration of both past and present as you learn about and celebrate our history and the important role Northumberland families played in the agricultural landscape 225 years ago.  There will be a variety of 225th Wheat Harvest events for all ages.  In the South Field there will be a Ferrier, Wheat Harvesting, Traditional Bread Making, Wool Dying, Spinning, Felting and Quilting information session and demonstrations taking place on both Saturday and Sunday.  On the outdoor stage by the Fall Fair Centre there will be one band performance on Saturday and one on Sunday as part of the 225th Wheat Harvest Anniversary events.

I am so proud of all the hard work our directors, associate directors, and volunteers do all year, who work tirelessly to provide a wonderful community event.  It certainly would not happen without them!

Join us September 13, 14, 15, 2019 for three days of agriculture and community.  Check out all the exhibits, animal competitions, midway, vendors, and so much more!

See you there!

Emily Field, President 2018-2019
