Bursary

Port Hope and District Agricultural Society endeavors to promote agriculture presently and into the future. As such, the society wishes to make available an annual $500.00 bursary.

Application Criteria

  1. The applicant must be attending an agriculture-related curriculum undertaken at an accredited Canadian College or University.  Examples of eligible curricula include:
    • B.Sc. or B.A. in:
      • Agriculture
      • Crop Sciences
      • Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems, or others.
    • Diploma / Certificate in:
      • Agriculture
      • Sustainable Agriculture
      • Agricultural Equipment Technician, or others
    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  2. The applicant must be aged 25 or under.
  3. The bursary will be paid out after successful completion of one year in any eligible program, and demonstration of proof of second-year enrollment in the program.
  4. Applicants must be a resident of Northumberland County.
  5. Application will be reviewed and assessed based on the applicant’s community involvement, leadership skills and/or involvement in agricultural-related activities or Associations.

The deadline for submission of the application is July 31st.  Letters of notification will be provided to all applicants regarding the bursary decision by August 31st, and the successful candidate will be notified by telephone.
