Port Hope and District Agricultural Society
Our Commitment to Privacy
The Port Hope and District Agricultural Society respects the privacy
of our members, volunteers, donors and sponsors. We are committed
to ensuring that appropriate measures and safeguards are in place
to protect specific information that is held for the purpose of
our Society. We adhere to all legislative requirements with respect
to privacy. We do not rent, sell or trade mailing lists. We understand
that some of the information that we may hold on members, volunteers,
donors and sponsors is private, which is why we collect personal
information only for the purpose of the following:
- researching the
needs of the agricultural community and developing programs to
meet those needs;
- holding agricultural exhibits featuring competitions
for which prizes may be awarded;
- promoting the conservation
of natural resources;
- encouraging the beautification of the agricultural
community;
- supporting and providing facilities to encourage activities
intended to enrich the rural lifestyle.
At all times we strive to keep personal information accurate and
up-to-date for the purposes identified above. We will obtain consent
prior to making any information available to third parties. Members,
volunteers, donors and sponsors do have choices and can refuse
or withdraw consent for us to keep and use information. They may
request that their name be removed from any lists or publication;
they can refuse to provide personal information to us; and they
may withdraw consent at any time. In all cases this may limit The
Port Hope and District Agricultural Society's ability to maintain
contact and provide appropriate service to these individuals.
Donor's wishes regarding recognition or anonymity regarding a
gift shall be respected. Donor recognition shall be in a manner
consistent with the Society's usual standards of practice.
If you wish to be removed from any of our outside contact lists,
please reach us by phone at 905-396-FAIR (3247). We will gladly
accommodate your request. Members, volunteers, donors and sponsors
may request that their name be removed from our various lists at
any time. Those requests should be in writing and be directed to
our Privacy Compliance Officer. For further information regarding
