We are committed to ensuring that appropriate measures and safeguards are in place to protect specific information that is held for the purpose of our Society. We adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to privacy. We do not rent, sell or trade mailing lists. We understand that some of the information that we may hold on members, volunteers, donors and sponsors is private, which is why we collect personal information only for the purpose of the following:

  • researching the needs of the agricultural community and developing programs to meet those needs;
  • holding agricultural exhibits featuring competitions for which prizes may be awarded;
  • promoting the conservation of natural resources;
  • encouraging the beautification of the agricultural community;
  • supporting and providing facilities to encourage activities intended to enrich the rural lifestyle.

At all times we strive to keep personal information accurate and up-to-date for the purposes identified above. We will obtain consent prior to making any information available to third parties. Members, volunteers, donors and sponsors do have choices and can refuse or withdraw consent for us to keep and use information. They may request that their name be removed from any lists or publication; they can refuse to provide personal information to us; and they may withdraw consent at any time. In all cases this may limit The Port Hope and District Agricultural Society's ability to maintain contact and provide appropriate service to these individuals.

Donor's wishes regarding recognition or anonymity regarding a gift shall be respected. Donor recognition shall be in a manner consistent with the Society's usual standards of practice.
